Our mission is for girls and women to overcome social barriers and become independent, lifelong learners to gain and maintain self sufficiency.
BE THAT, Inc. was born out of both experience and deep concern. While working as a case manager and teacher, I witnessed a growing disconnect—young girls were struggling to transition into womanhood. More and more, I saw students becoming pregnant and facing challenges they weren’t equipped to handle. It became clear that there was a gap—one that public education, limited by state standards, wasn’t filling.
I realized these young women needed more than academics; they needed mentorship, life skills, spiritual grounding, and a supportive community to help them grow into confident, independent women.
That’s why I founded BE THAT, Inc.—to bridge the gap. Our mission is to provide girls and women of all ages with the tools to overcome social barriers, become lifelong learners, and achieve self-sufficiency. Through training and mentoring, we’re not just shaping lives—we’re building futures and transforming communities.
We uplift every person’s worth and treat each other with kindness and empathy.
Leadership begins with service — we create change by helping and empowering others.
We choose optimism, encouragement, and growth in every situation.
We honor and invest in the communities that nurture our collective strength.
